About Pipalkoti

Pipalkoti is a small town located in the Chamoli district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated on the route to Badrinath, one of the four important sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage. The town serves as a resting point for pilgrims traveling to Badrinath and also for tourists visiting the region. Pipalkoti is nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas, surrounded by picturesque landscapes and snow-capped peaks. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 1,260 meters (4,134 feet) above sea level. The town is well-connected by road. It lies on the National Highway 7 (NH 7), which is a part of the Char Dham Highway connecting the four pilgrimage sites of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Pipalkoti serves as an important stopover for pilgrims traveling to Badrinath, which is approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) from the town. Many pilgrims halt here to rest and acclimatize to the higher altitudes before continuing their journey to Badrinath.
