About Dharchula
Culturally-rich Dharchula is a picturesque hill town located in the Pithoragarh district on the ancient trading route linking the Kumaon region to Nepal. Encircled by towering mountains, the town is nestled in a verdant valley on the banks of the gushing Kali river. Standing on the Kailash Mansarovar and Chota Kailash yatra routes, it attracts tourists and devotees in large numbers. Dharchula offers a panoramic view of the mighty Panchachuli peak to its west and falls on several trekking routes. The unique Kangdali festival is held here once in 12 years. Interestingly, Dharchula is connected to Nepal by a bridge across the Kali river.
